Controller

Position Description: The National Bureau of Asian Research (NBR), a Seattle-based nonprofit, is seeking a Controller to plan, direct, and execute the financial activities of the Organization at the highest level of management. The Controller is responsible for financial reporting and analysis, internal controls, financial compliance, audit and tax functions, and coordinates the daily operations of all accounting functions. This position reports to the President as a full-time, salaried, exempt employee.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Qualifications: The successful candidate will be a Certified Public Accountant with advanced expertise in nonprofit accounting and compliance (including A-133 Federal compliance). A minimum of 5 years nonprofit accounting experience and a working knowledge of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) are required. The ideal candidate will also possess excellent listening, verbal, and written communications skills, and will be dependable, flexible, and resourceful.
